Parama Pada Sopanam - The traditional Indian Snakes and Ladders
Parama Pada Sopanam means steps to the highest place. This is the traditional version of the popular game of Snakes and Ladders. The game was believed to be symbolic of man's attempt to reach moksha or salvation. The ladders represent virtues and the snakes represent vices. All the snakes in the game have names from mythology such as Baksura, Kumbakarna, etc. who are representative of certain vices. The rule sheet provides th stories behind these mythological characters.
